Be MORE Human-7/22

Be MORE Human-7/22

Hey {{contact.first_name}}!

FIT LV back with another #feelgoodfriday. Today's mission:Be MORE Human.

As our lives get busier and technology continues to take control, there is this hustle and bustle that I see taking over where people are no longer connecting like they once did. We are allowing automation to step in and run things that once involved other humans. I truly believe there is an increasing disconnect in communication and being MORE human.

So how can we slow down and be MORE?

Be BETTER?

I think for starters we do just that, SLOW down. Remember the basics, common courtesies. Ya know, the things we (hopefully) teach our children.

👀Eye contact

😃Smile

🙋🏻‍♀️Hold the door for others

🗣Say please and thank you

I mean truly juvenile things, yet I witness people daily going about as if they are the only people on the face of the earth that matters. There are times when I am a customer at an establishment and the employee on the other side of the counter doesn't even look up, just starts doing their scanning or whatever. "HI! HOW ARE YOU? HOW IS YOUR DAY GOING?" I will make a statement to say hello🤣

So now the challenge: MAKE PEOPLE'S DAY!!!!

Instead of running through your day only focused on What YOU needed to do.

Where YOU needed to go.

What YOU needed to get done.

What YOUR needs were…

Slow down, recognize, and acknowledge others around you.

✨When you’re at the grocery store later, I know the self check out is really tempting, trust me, I love em. But what if today you went to a REAL cashier and said “hello, how is your day going?”

✨When you’ve been on hold for 90 minutes and are at your wits end  only to be transferred yet again, instead of immediately bitching at the HUMAN on the other end of the phone, say, “Hi Sheryl! How are YOU today?”

✨When you’re walking down the street in the morning, instead of having your headphones in and face in your phone, look UP and OUT. Make eye contact, greet every set of eyes with a gentle smile and a “good morning!”

Is it THAT inconvenient to be outwardly kind and genuine to other humans?

Another thing to always consider is that you never know what is going on in another persons life. How they're feeling in their heart and in their mind. A little random kindness could change the trajectory of their life.

Not to take this feel good newsletter to a dark place but suicide rates are constantly rising. Just about everyone I know has lost a friend or family member due to suicide. I had never personally been affected by it until this year when I lost a cousin. I think about him often and wonder if people had have been kinder to him during his 31 years, if he would still be here. While we will never know what was going on in his head and heart, I know I can honor his life by being a better human and treating everyone well.

Remember...

❤️You never know how your random act of kindness could change someones life.

❤️You never know how far your eye contact could go.

❤️You never know who you may meet because of a smile.

❤️You never know what could be on the other side of a random conversation.

(And don’t @ me saying you don’t have time.. if your day is so frantic and rushed you can’t implement these… get up earlier and be more organized 😉 Never too busy to be kind.)

Be more human.

As always, thanks for being here. Now go WIN the day. Happy Friday Team

Peace, Love, and Burpees.
