Winsday: Wins & 8 Week Challenge
Hey FITLV Crew!
Coach Kristi here and we are back with another WINSday!! On Sunday we kicked off our second 8 week challenge and I couldn't be more excited for this one. I see time and time again, motivation fizzling out this time of year due to all of the festivities, holidays, and sports that take place. While those things are all fun and exciting, they are NOT reason to bail on health and wellness goals. This is exactly why I wanted to host a challenge leading up to Thanksgiving. Whether you're officially participating in the challenge or not, I would encourage you to save this calendar (hold finger down on image and save) and work on dialing in your own habits this month. There is no better time than TODAY to start improving your life.
TIPS FOR YOUR FIRST WEEK!
Regardless of where you are at in your journey, I want to give you some tips to get through each week. For those of you new to the program or the 8 Week Challenge, you may be crushing it already or you may feel a little overwhelmed. KEEP GOING. Every day is a new opportunity to WIN the day.
Remember: Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.
➡️Set your alarm 15 minutes earlier so you can get your mind right first thing in the morning. (Great opportunity for your personal development reading.)
➡️Schedule your workouts IN your calendar, these should be non negotiable appointments you make with yourself. Find a buddy to do them with you as an extra layer of support and accountability!
➡️Plan and prep your meals AHEAD of time. Whether you're hiring a meal prep service or cooking for yourself, you will be much more successful with a game plan. Check the RECIPE GUIDES in the members only section or in the facebook group.
➡️LOG ahead of time. Get in the habit of logging in MyFitnessPal the NIGHT before. This is where personal accountability for nutritional habits begin and you won't be trying to figure it out on the fly in the middle of a busy day.
➡️HYDRATE! Aim to get at least 1/2 body weight in ounces of water per day.
REMEMBER:
- This is a LIFESTYLE. You are setting yourself up with new habits you plan to keep for LIFE. In your life, every day will not be PERFECT. Having a perfectionist mindset is setting you up for failure. Know the difference between being lazy and giving yourself some wiggle room for human error.
- Keep your goals CLOSE to you! Write them where you can see them. Leave reminders of your WHY throughout your house.
- Make the healthy choice the EASY choice to make.
“If I only find joy in my own successes, I’m limiting my joy. But if I can take pleasure in the successes of my friends and family-10,20,50 people. I get to experience 50x the happiness and joy. Who doesn’t want that?!” ✨
MEMBER WINS
“Came home from vacation with a grocery delivery and stocked my pantry, then immediately got my meal prep knocked out for the week! I’m feel ready to tackle the next week. 💪🏼”
“I pushed harder in today’s workout ran I have ever done. I am proud. I was frustrated not getting results but now I am putting in the work. One day at a time.”
"Big news - did my body scan today. Body fat 9.8% ! Not bad for almost 50!"
“I deadlifted 255!!!!!!!!!! Heaviest in my life!"
"We went to the orchard and my girls got apple slider slushees. I ate an apple while they shared their slushee. Then my dad brought pizza. I ate one cheese stick and then had my prepped chili. I wasn’t miserable and I still participated. Now my husband can eat the left over pizza and leave my meal preps alone.”
"It’s not lost on me that I’ve lost 20 pounds already!!!!"
"I’m loving the workouts and feel like this is something I can do for life.”
Tally YOUR wins!!
I share this message often but too many of you still aren't finding and acknowledging the small wins in your life.
Count your wins.
Big or small.
Count them ALL.
Some days can feel overwhelming.
Somedays can feel heavy.
But all days have a little win in them somewhere.
For the rest of the week I want you to find 3 little wins each day.
Here are mine from yesterday:
1- I went back to jiujitsu and my neck was pain free.
2- Realized I have not drank or been tempted to drink alcohol in almost a month!
3- Wore a sweatshirt and sweatpants in the morning and did not overheat. Cozy SZN is upon us people!!!!
Too often we get in the habit of only looking for the big wins. Only counting the big wins. The journey is MUCH more enjoyable when you acknowledge the little wins along the way, each and every day. 💫
Thanks for being here❤️
Whether you've been following along for the last decade or just recently joined the FIT LV Community, I appreciate you being here! Keep putting in the work to being 1% better every day.
